This book addresses a critical gap in Indian agricultural education: the absence of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary textbook that simultaneously serves the academic, practical, and entrepreneurial needs of students in Agribusiness Management and Agricultural Extension. It is conceived at the productive intersection of four disciplines: Extension Science, Development Studies, Agricultural Innovation Systems, and Entrepreneurship.
The Sixth Dean's Committee Report (ICAR, 2024) mandates an entrepreneurship-first approach across all 13 undergraduate agricultural disciplines under NEP-2020. Yet very few textbooks currently bridge the conceptual frameworks of extension education with the enterprise-building tools of agribusiness management. This book is designed to fill that gap: authoritatively, accessibly, and in alignment with ICAR's prescribed syllabi.
Each chapter is structured to serve both as a classroom textbook and as a practitioner's field guide, consistent with the experiential learning philosophy of NEP-2020 and the Student READY program.
